Water Resources Engineer

Duties

Provide technical engineering expertise for the urban storm water management program by reviewing engineering designs. Respond to technical questions related to urban storm water characteristics and best management practices for construction site erosion control. Implement federal storm water discharge regulations.

Required Technical Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Urban best management and construction site erosion control practices and the application of these practices to achieve pollutant reduction goals; engineering design for structural and nonstructural urban best management and construction site erosion control practices; urban hydrology; storm water pollutants, their characteristics, and how they affect design; communication skills, both verbal and written.

Desired Training

Bachelor's degree in civil, environmental, or sanitary engineering (or some combination of the three) from an ABET-accredited program, with relevant course work or experience in areas such as wastewater or water treatment design, hydrogeology, sanitary engineering, hydraulics, fluid mechanics, or a verified equivalent.
