Fisheries Technician, Creel Census Clerk, Propagation/Hatchery

We seek creative, service-oriented individuals to join a professional team of employees dedicated to protecting and enhancing our natural resources. We employ individuals who can communicate positively with a variety of customer groups.

Duties

Multiple program support activities including repairing and maintaining fyke nets, spawning various fish species, planting fish fry and fingerlings, creel census, lake and stream surveys, data tabulation, and stream and lake habitat planning and design projects. Direct spawning, rearing and harvesting crews. Conduct surveys of lake and stream water content and collect physical and biological data. Conduct follow-up studies based on survey findings.

Required Technical Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Fish identification and ecology. Cold and warm water propagation. Common fish diseases. Sampling and environmental monitoring techniques. Fish population dynamics. Habitat improvement techniques.

Special Requirements

Most positions will require a valid Wisconsin driver's license. Some may require a CDL (Commercial Driver's License).
