The belt feeders for blood worms have been installed. Please use the following amounts of blood worms:

Tank 1: 100 grams
Tank 2: 100 grams
Tank 3: 100 grams
Tank 4: 100 grams

The water for the belt feeders has changed from last year. The water is now coming directly from the inlet PVC pipe. There is a red handle on the valve that controls the amount of water coming onto the belt feeder. If necessary, adjust this valve so that there is enough water to wash the blood worms off the belt but so much that the water floods the belt.

On Friday, May 29, Marc White and I transferred the Lake Sturgeon to the larger tanks. Please adjust your procedures based on the information below.

1) Make up 2 hatcher cones of brine shrimp based on the following formula for each hatcher, 2 gallons of water, 12 tbs of salt and 2 1/2 tbs brine shrimp.

2) Combine the brine shrimp from both hatchers into one container. Measure out equal amounts of brine shrimp and place 1/2 in one hopper and 1/2 in the other hopper. Place brine shrimp into each hopper filled with 5 quarts or 5,000 ml of salt water based on this formula. 5 quarts of 80 degree water and 3.75 tbs of salt.

3) Measure out 50grams of bloodworms per tank and grate them into the tanks. The blood worms need to be grated because they are still too small to handle the whole worm. This should be done after the tanks are cleaned.

4) After cleaning and right before you leave, carefully place a handful of salt pellets under the water flow of each tank. Please make sure not to crush any sturgeon.
