Ordering Tree and Shrub Seedlings
We appreciate your interest in purchasing tree seedlings from the Wisconsin State Nursery program.
Instructions
Before you begin the ordering process, please read these important instructions:
- Please contact your local DNR Forester if applying for federal or state cost-sharing for tree planting.
- Read the frequently asked questions (FAQ) about ordering seedlings.
- Review our current Tree and Shrub Inventory to make sure your choices are available.
- Wisconsin landowners may purchase DNR seedlings for reforestation and conservation purposes. DNR seedlings may not be used for decorative, ornamental, landscaping purposes, or Christmas trees. To order ornamental or Christmas trees or seedlings for planting outside of Wisconsin please contact a private nursery.
- If we are sold out of the species you would like, please contact a private nursery. They may be able to supply your needs.

How to Order
When you're ready to place your order, you may use one of the two following methods:
- Use our Online Tree and Shrub On-line Application
Please have the following information ready:
- Species, seedling ages, and quantity you wish to order
- Location where trees will be planted (county, section, township, range)
- If exempt from paying sales tax, your ES# or Farmers Exemption Certificate
- Download, print, fill out, and mail the Tree and Shrub Application [PDF 74KB].
