As a first step in developing a statewide forest plan for Wisconsin, DNR Forestry sought input from over 8000 citizens, organizations, industry and DNR staff in a survey asking what trends and issues were most important for the statewide forest plan, and to identify additional trends/issues that were not identified in the assessment report. The public response to our survey was tremendous, with over 2,000 surveys returned.

The results of the survey are presented below. All 45 trends and issues are ranked in order of the importance placed upon them by survey respondents for inclusion in the statewide forest plan. In addition to the overall ranking, trends and issues are ranked within each category (Ecological, Economic, Social, Urban, Global). Finally, we have included the original survey with results presented individually for each trend or issue.
