Hazardous Trees

Over the last 5 years, methods for inspecting and evaluating trees to determine the likelihood of tree failure have become quite sophisticated. The MN DNR along with the USDA Forest Service have developed an excellent guide (Exit DNR), outlining what key factors to look for when conducting inspections. New data regarding why trees fail and methods for determining the level of risk are available and becoming a routine part of making Wisconsin's state parks and forests a safer place to visit.
