DNR Geospatial Data Overview

Many geospatial data sets in use at the DNR have been developed for a wide range of purposes. No individual bureau is currently authorized to act as a single point of contact for providing access to all DNR geospatial data. Many of these data sets held by the DNR Bureau of Technology Services (BTS) are available for sharing with the public without restriction. However, many others are held by individual DNR bureaus or programs which manage their own data distribution. Find out more about how to access DNR geospatial data holdings.

Data Held by Other DNR Bureaus

A wide variety of geographic and non-geographic data is maintained by other individual DNR programs outside of DNT/BTS. DNR program GIS data sets were developed primarily to fulfill certain regulatory responsibilities or to provide specific customer services, and may include limited locational information. Determining "Fitness for Use"

Please give careful consideration to the issue of "fitness" of specific DNR GIS datasets to any particular use. Determining "fitness for use" is solely the user's responsibility (see DNR Legal Notices).
