Help Plan the Future of this Property
The purpose of the master plan is to provide recommendations for the future management and development of the Pike Lake Unit. The major proposals in the plan include:
- Adding 2,810 acres to the present boundary for a total of 3,540 acres
- Developing an education/interpretive center
- Increasing fishing opportunities by developing an ADA-accessible fishing pier
- Adding 30 camp sites, a group camp, and an ADA-accessible cabin to the campground
- Developing motorized and carry-in boat access sites
- Developing a group picnic area
- Redesigning the beach/picnic area
The proposed Department action is not anticipated to result in significant adverse environmental effects. The DNR has made a preliminary determination that an environmental impact statement will not be required.
