If you plan on dropping off your application at DNR, please contact Shelley Fox (608.266.5798) ahead of time. The DNR building is secured, and you will need a visitor's pass to access our offices.

Is This Property Eligible? Grant BasicsThe Brownfield Site Assessment Grant (SAG) is a DNR financial tool that helps local governments conduct initial activities and investigations at properties with known or suspected environmental contamination. Please Note! These funds can not be used for environmental cleanup activities. Applicants must meet the eligibility definition outlined in s.292.75(1)(a), Wis. Stats.: “‘Eligible site or facility’ means one or more contiguous industrial or commercial facilities or sites with common or multiple ownership that are abandoned, idle, or underused, the expansion or redevelopment of which is adversely affected by actual or perceived environmental contamination.” Eligible ApplicantsA city, village, town, county, redevelopment authority, community development authority, or housing authority is eligible to complete an application for a grant.
