Scheduled Audits

The Department is required by law to provide oversight and conduct performance audits of jurisdictions administering nonmetallic mining reclamation programs under NR 135. The purpose is to ensure quality control in program administration and to assure that all reclamation is in compliance with the reclamations standards in the Ch. NR 135.

Following is a list of Regulatory Authorities that are scheduled for audits in the coming months. Operators with mines in those jurisdictions and interested members of the public are invited to submit comments or observations concerning implementation of the mining reclamation program in their area. Please see the staff list for contact information. Department staff will consider all pertinent information in conducting the performance reviews.
