The Pole That Got AwayBy Ronnie One day when I was 6, I went fishing with my grandpa out on his boat. My uncle Jack came with us. Grandpa was too busy talking to my uncle to notice I took a minnow to fish. Because I wanted to fish like him. I cast the rod but then my hands were so wet that the pole slipped. I lost my cousin's pole and the minnow. I tried to tell my grandpa but he was busy talking so I yelled " Hey! GRANDPA I LOST THE FISHING POLE IN THE LAKE!!!" He jumped up (and really rocked the boat!). Then he grabbed the net and tried to catch it, but it was too late. I lost the pole and then three years later I went to the same spot and I hooked something heavy! When I pulled up the heavy thing I saw my old pole!! It was so rusty (well the reel didn't work) grandpa said to throw it back because it was a bad fish. So I threw it back and he said that he was kidding and that he could fix it at home. But I'd already thrown the pole back in the lake. I got into even more trouble the second time than the first!!! By Ronnie Thanks for the big fish story or should we say lost pole story! |
