Changes to Green & Healthy School Program

The Green & Healthy School program has been offered to Wisconsin schools for almost four years now. Since its inception, 11 schools have completed all three steps of the program to become "Green & Healthy Schools."

In order to get more schools to participate and to help them get started along a green and healthy path, we have decided to reduce the number of topics we require schools to complete. Starting July 1, 2007, schools only have to select five topics for Discovery and Inventory (step 2) and Action and Implementation (step 3). These topics must include Energy, Waste & Recycling, and Water; schools can select any two of the remaining seven topics.
