Workshops, Clinics, Seminars and TrainingLearn to Waterfowl Hunt Oct. 11-12The Department of Natural Resources, in conjunction with the Wisconsin Waterfowl Association (WWA), Beaver Dam Conservation Club, Final Approach, and Ducks Unlimited will host a Learn to Waterfowl Hunt Weekend October 11-12. The program will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Beaver Dam Conservation Club on Saturday, Oct. 11, and then on Sunday, Oct. 12, students will head to the field from 5 a.m. to noon to participate in a waterfowl hunt with an experienced mentor. Anyone interested in attending needs to fill out an application which are available at the DNR Horicon Service Center, 1210 N. Palmatory St., or by contacting Mark Kakatsch at 262-567-1300. Completion of a hunter safety course is not required to take part in this hunting skills weekend. Among the day’s topics will be waterfowl identification and biology, waterfowl hunting tactics of blinds and decoy placement, duck and goose calling, dog handling and safety. Participants will also have the opportunity to practice their shooting skills. Presentations will be given by experienced waterfowl hunters and DNR staff. All materials will be provided and if your name is selected to participate, you will be required to pay a $10 registration fee. Ongoing Workshops, Clinics and Training Opportunities
