This listing, arranged in alphabetical order by county, describes over 400 miles
of trails that will be available for spring, summer, and fall motorcycle riding in
2006. You will find below a brief explanation of the trail and the local contact.
For the most current information on trail conditions, maps and the local trail or
area opening/closing dates, please contact the office indicated. Most of the trail sponsors
produce a quality map that is suitable for on-the-trail use.
PLEASE OBEY TRAIL SIGNS AND SPEED LIMITS AS POSTED. Future trail use will depend on compliance with local regulations.
Description:Dyracuse Mound Motorcycle Recreation Area. 15 miles south of
Wisconsin Rapids (Archer Dr. east of State Hwy 13). Contains 2 ATV courses,
2 motorcycle courses, trails, shelter, toilets and parking. Admission fee is charged.
No camping in the park.

Description: Great Divide Trail. Approximately 79 miles of forest trail
on moderately rolling terrain. Trailhead is located approximately 3 miles north of
Loretta (State Hwy 70) immediately off of County Trunk GG.

Ashland
Tri-Co Recreational Corridor
Description: Approximately 62 miles of improved railroad grade through Ashland, Bayfield, and Douglas Counties that connects Ashland to Superior.

Chequamegon National Forest
Description: Valhalla Area Trails. Approximately 63 miles of trail connecting the Valhalla Winter Sports area.

Chequamegon National Forest
Description: In the near future, the revised Forest Management Plan will restrict off-road motorcycle to designated trails. There are several trail systems signed and improved for off-road motorcycle use. See Ashland, Bayfield, Price, & Taylor counties.
Clark County
Description: Knobby Ridge Motorcycle Trail. 18 miles of trail in 4 loops. Youth loop located off main parking area. Trail access is 8 miles west of Neillsville on Highway 10.

Jackson County
Jackson Co/Black River State Forest
Description: Approximately 95 miles of trail on state and county forest land. Camping is available at County facilities and State Forest Campgrounds. The motorcycle trailhead is located on the north side of Hwy 54 approximately 3 miles west of City Point. Off-road motorcycles must have a valid off-road county use decal to make use of the trails designated for combination ATV/motorcycle use.

Richard Bong State Recreation Area
Description: 6 miles of looped trail on gently rolling terrain in a special use area. A state park permit is required for car parking in the recreational area.

Cheese Country Trail
Description: 47 miles of abandoned railroad grade extending from Mineral Point (Iowa County) to Darlington (Lafayette Co.) to Monroe (Green Co.). The trail surface is relatively flat but passes through scenic terrain.

Description: 18 miles of abandoned railroad grade extending from Amery to Turtle Lake and into Barron County. The trailhead is located in the City of Amery.

Chequamegon National Forest
Description: Flambeau Trails. 72 miles of signed trails on moderately rolling terrain. Trail access sites are at Blockhouse Lake parking area, and forest trail parking located on State Hwy 70 east of Fifield. Camping with trail access is available at Sailor Lake, Smith Rapids, and Newman Lake Campgrounds.

Chequamegon National Forest
Description: Perkinstown Trail. 20 miles of trail on gently rolling terrain. Trailhead is located approximately 15 miles west of Medford on State Hwy 64 (north side of road). Chippewa Campground is adjacent to northern end of trail.
