All-Terrain Vehicle Area Trails
Winter, 2010-2011

This listing, arranged in alphabetical order by county, describes over 4,200 miles of trail that will be available for winter all-terrain vehicle riding during the winter of 2009-2010. Many of the trails are also used for snowmobile trail riding and will be open only during certain time periods. You will find below a brief explanation of the trail and the local contact. Most of the trail sponsors produce a quality map that is suitable for on-the-trail use. For the most current information on trail conditions, opening/closing announcements and maps, please contact the office indicated. Note: All-terrain vehicles making use of these trails must be registered for public use. (ATV Registration Application).

Description: Approximately 32 miles of the Dead Horse Trail that connects with Sawyer County and 28 mile connection to Clam Lake.

Description: Approximately 31 miles of trail within Forest boundaries.

Description: Approximately 193 miles of trail connecting various county park/camping opportunities within Clark County Forest. Three parking lots serve the trail system.

Douglas County

Desciption: Approximately 36 miles of trail located on abandoned railroad grade in Trempealeau, Jackson, and Eau Claire counties (Mondovi - Fairchild).

Kenosha County

Description: Richard Bong State Recreation Area. Approximately 7 miles of trails in 3 loops plus a short beginner loop. Trail availability determined on a daily basis. Always call before you come to ride. Riding hours: Mid October through Dec. 31, 2:00 p.m. to Sunset. January and February, 9:00 a.m. to Sunset. Closed March and April. Wisconsin State Park vehicle admission required. Purchase at Self-Registration Station or Office.

Price County Forest

Description: Approximately 25 miles of scenic trail, 15.8 miles - Georgetown Trail and 9.5 miles - Solberg Trail , with various connecting routes. Direct access to lodging, camping and services.

Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest

Description: The Flambeau Trail System consists of 70 miles of signed trails on moderately rolling terrain winding through the forest. Direct access to lodging, camping and services.

Pine Line Trail

Description: A 26-mile abandoned railroad grade open to ATVs and UTVs in the winter only when trails are declared officially open to snowmobiles and the temperature is below 28 degrees. When the temperature is below 28 degrees, ATVs and UTVs are also allowed on snowmobile trail 189 with access to Timm’s Hill, Wisconsin’s highest geographical point, and a few miles of town roads and county snowmobile trails in the Prentice area. Description: The Village of Tigerton operates the Embarrass River ATV Park. The park is open for winter riding and grooms approximately 20 miles of trail on 500 acres.
