For their service in November, 2002During the 2002 deer gun season, Wardens Bilgo and Schaller successfully rescued a boy who had broken through the thin ice on Forest Lake in Fond du Lac County. The wardens commandeered a boat and used it to slide their way out to the boy. The wardens risked their lives to save the 14-year old. |
