Safety Education Volunteer Instructor Corner

Safety Education CourseHow many times have you wished that the boaters, snowmobilers, hunters, and ATV operators in your area were more knowledgeable, more responsible, or more courteous? Here's a way you can make a difference.

The Department of Natural Resources is looking for motivated people who have an interest in recreational safety and who are willing to donate a few hours of their time each year to teach safety education classes in your area. Becoming a volunteer instructor is a great way to help save lives, prevent injuries, meet people in your community, and positively influence the attitudes and actions of other resource users.

The Department of Natural Resources trains and certifies volunteers to teach all of the following education courses:

Once certified, the DNR will provide instructors with class materials and supplies.

If you are willing to donate a few hours of your time each year and would like to find out more about becoming a part of the fast-growing team helping to make outdoor recreation safer, you may request information by e-mail or by contacting your Recreational Safety Warden.

Duplicate Safety Certificates

Customers can now purchase and print their own duplicate safety education certificate from home online, or they may still visit one of our DNR Service Centers or a DNR License Sales Agent nearest them. To obtain a duplicate safety education certificate, customers will be informed of the two new options to obtain that duplicate when they visit our website.

Fees for purchasing a duplicate safety education certificate are still $2.75 but for the customer that decides to print their duplicate at home there will also be a $1.00 convenience fee, a total of $3.75. The customer will need to pay online with a valid credit card.
