Safety Education Internet Courses

The following are the Wisconsin approved Internet courses. Any courses other than the ones listed below will not be recognized in the State of Wisconsin.

ATV

Operators of all terrain vehicles have an online method to receive ATV safety certification. The internet course is available at www.offroad-ed.com/wi. There is no age requirement to complete and be certified by this online course. Cost of course is $15.

Boating

There are two different online boating safety courses available for operators wanting to be certified in Wisconsin:

  • Boat Ed Course: This updated course offers interactive instruction for all learning styles. The 3-hour course is split into super-short segments that are designed for easy comprehension and quick learning. Log out and the course "remembers" where you left off, so you can jump right back in after a few hours or days. This course has the identical text that students study in DNR's classroom courses, colorfully illustrated with more than 200 realistic drawings, more than an hour of streaming videos, and interactive animations . The cost is $29.50, paid only after you pass. Customer support is available 16 hours a day, 7 days a week via email or a toll-free number.
  • BoaterExam:This new course is suitable for boaters of any age and reading skills because students can choose to hear the material as well as see it. The course features many eye-catching animations and the ability for students to "bookmark" where they are, making it easier to return to complete the course at a later time. This course costs $29.99 and takes a minimum of three hours to complete.
  • Hunter

In order to have hunter education certification by an internet course, you must:

    1. Pre-register with the instructor who is holding an Internet/CD-ROM certification field day course. As soon as an instructor plans a course, we will post it on our Upcoming Classes right away. TYPE: HUNTER CD/INTERNET. (If you leave the county blank, it will display all classes being held throughout Wisconsin. If you want to search only your county, enter your county in the County Search Field.)
    2. The instructor will provide you with the internet address for the book portion of the course. You must complete the Internet course before attending the field day.
    3. Print the quizzes and bring them with you to the field day.
    4. Attend the special field day specifically designed for this program. At the conclusion of the field day, you will take two exams; one written, and one practical.
