Office of Energy & Utilities

The Wisconsin Legislature created the Office of Energy (OE) within the Wisconsin DNR to centralize the review of important energy and utility projects and to help streamline the permitting process.

The Office of Energy provides statewide guidance and consistent application of the regulatory processes established by statutes and rules, and includes a corps of experienced natural resource experts who understand the nuances of energy and utility projects which allow for consistent application of the regulatory processes.
