The Operator Certification Program is established under chapter NR 114 of the Wisconsin Administrative Code [PDF exit DNR]

The City of Appleton Wastewater Treatment Plant has been awarded an EPA National Wastewater Management Excellence Award.

The program is responsible for ensuring that various types of professional operators have adequate training to perform the necessary tasks at their facilities.

The types of operators certified under this program include people who participate in, or are responsible for, the operation of water and wastewater facilities, septage servicing activities, and solid waste disposal facilities (including those that burn solid waste).
