Social Science Research

Sociological scientists provide methodological consulting and conduct original research in support of agency programs and projects. High priority services include evaluating customer satisfaction, estimating behavior, supporting program reviews, and providing data to support agency strategic planning.

photo of a focus groupThe sociologists provide consultation in the following areas: ethnographic research, personal interviewing, focus group interviewing, and mail and telephone questionnaires/surveys. They also provide limited consultation on how to analyze and report the results of such efforts. Finally, the sociologists are responsible for reviewing and approving all surveys conducted by or contracted for department programs.
