Landowner Incentive Program
Current and Past LIP Projects

Since 2006, Wisconsin has received more than 230 applications for assistance from private landowners for voluntary restoration activities. In each of these cases, Landowners are actively seeking to enhance existing populations and attract additional rare or listed species to their property.

To date, more than 1,900 privately-owned acres have been restored through LIP funding, at an average cost of only $186.00 per acre. These projects range from 1.5 acres in size to 150 acres, and LIP-funded activities are providing a direct benefit to populations of at least 193 at-risk species known to occur at project sites, including: 5 Federally listed species (2 Endangered, 3 Threatened), 70 State Listed species, 101 Special Concern Species, and 17 Species of Greatest Conservation Need.
