Landowner Incentive Program: How to Apply

Please review the FAQ for project requirements and program priorities. Projects that restore or enhance habitat on private land for the benefit of at-risk species are eligible.

Application Process

The application process has 2 steps:

  • A pre-proposal letter of interest that includes basic information about your project idea and location. The pre-proposal letter must be submitted in order to be considered for funding.
  • If your pre-proposal is approved, you will be invited to submit a full proposal which will ask for budget information, project objectives, and evaluation criteria.

  • Example Proposal

For both the letter and proposal, online submission is the preferred application method. If you do not own a computer, most town libraries provide computer resources. Otherwise, the LIP coordinator is able to facilitate other methods of submission including hard copy, but be sure to contact her ahead of the deadline to assure that that you receive a current version of the application and that the application is received before the submission deadline.
