Bureau of Facilities and Lands - Capital Development Program
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (WDNR) Capital Development Program develops WDNR facilities and maintains and improves existing facilities.
Based on WDNR priorities and funding goals, the Capital Development Program implements those projects which:
- achieve compliance with environmental regulations and other code requirements
- encourage a property-based focus for limited development funds to improve the quality of the recreation experience and services to the public
- assure the health, safety, and security of WDNR employees and the public visiting WDNR properties
- focus on maintenance and limited development, including the green building initiative, of public use facilities on WDNR lands to maintain quality of services
- foster a sense of joint stewardship for the resource and achievement of Department goals through public cooperation and participation of outside cooperating groups
- establish and support implementation of a geographically based data information system to enhance our ability to manage our facilities and resources in future years
- evaluate our facilities and programs in relation to state and federal regulations such as the Americans with Disabilities Act, other building codes, cultural resources programs, and to facilitate a preventive maintenance program to save money in the long-term.
