Ice Age at the Beach

Through hands-on activities with models at the beach, students will discover how the glaciers created kames, eskers, kettles, outwash plains, and moraines. By using a physical timeline, students will see the Ice Age in a geologic time frame.

Special instructions

This program is done entirely outside at the beach and will need to be rescheduled if the weather is inclement. Come dressed for the weather.

The program is conducted at Mauthe Lake Recreation Area beach. Be prepared to get wet feet.

Bathrooms are right near the beach.
