Hartman Creek State Park Conditions

Conditions as of Tuesday, September 16, 2008:

Fall is a wonderful time to explore Wisconsin's state parks!

Boating and Fishing

Hartman Lake water levels are being lowered in order for the park to do maintenance on the Hartman Lake Dam. Lowering began on September 8 and will be completed by October 1. All water recreation, boating, fishing etc. may not be available during this time. The park's Allen, Pope and Marl lake offer many of the same recreational opportunities. We apologize for any inconvience.

The lakes in the park are spring-fed. Perch, bluegill and largemouth bass are the primary fish species.

Trails

All hiking, horse, off-road biking and hiking trails are open. Please call ahead for updated information.

A state trail pass is required for those persons age 16 years and older who use the horse and off-road biking trails.

Camping

The second shower building, near Site 47, is open only on Fridays and Saturday nights during September. The entire family campground will be open until September 30. At that time two of the back loops of the campground will be closed off and only the first shower building, by Site 23, will remain open until about mid-October.

Any firewood brought in from more than 50 miles away will be confiscated due to the potential of carrying emerald ash borers.

Camping rates are $15/night/resident and $17/night/non-resident. Electrical sites (21 and 65-87) cost $5 more per night. Reserve a campsite for 2 days to 11 months from now using the Web or by calling (888) 947-2757, TTY (800) 274-7275. Sites may be reserved for these 2008 dates:
