Centennial Events

Peninsula Centennial

Between four and five hundred people attended the Centennial dedication celebration in the Park's amphitheater and in the tent at Nicolet Beach on June 7.

Many special events related to the park's 100th birthday will continue throughout the summer and into the fall. For more information, see:

Beach

The Green Bay waters remain on the cold side, so not many visitors are swimming yet.

Note: Due to unexpected delays in the construction of the new shower/toilet building at Nicolet Beach, flush toilets are not available in the immediate beach area. Portable and vault toilets and a temporary changing room and foot rinse stations are provided. Flush toilets are available near campsites 619 and 861.

Trails

Trails are now dry and in good condition.

A state trail pass is required for the mountain bike trails at Peninsula State Park, in addition to a vehicle admission sticker. The annual trail pass is valid on all ski, bike and horse trails in Wisconsin that require the trail pass for users 16 years and older.

Many campers who were not aware of this restriction have had their firewood confiscated at the park entrance. You can buy firewood at the park wood yard.
