The fall colors have disappeared, but you can see more in the park this time of year with the leaves off the trees. See the DNR Events Calendar for a list of all events at Potawatomi and other state parks. Upcoming naturalist programs at Potawatomi include: CampingCampers are welcome in the South campground (sites 1-81) on a first-come, first-served basis from November through March. Four of these sites (22, 24, 26, 28) have electricity and will be plowed throughout the winter. Potable water is available at the campground shelter throughout the year. The shower building, sanitary dump station, and campground wells are closed for the season. The North Campground (sites 82-125) and the Group Campground are closed for the season. Sites may be reserved for dates up to 11 months in advanced. We also have 22 first-come, first-served sites (non-electric). TrailsTrails are in good hiking condition. A 75-foot observation tower on a 150-foot bluff in the north area of the park offers a bird's-eye view of the surrounding waters and islands. FishingLaunching piers are scheduled to be pulled from the harbor during the week of November 8. The accessible fishing pier on the south shoreline has been pulled from the water for the season due to recent wind damage. The fish cleaning station is closed for the season.
