Mill Bluff State Park Conditions

Conditions as of Wednesday, September 16, 2009:

Trails

All trails are open and in good condition, but be sure to bring bug spray for a more enjoyable hike.

Nature

Day to day the leaves are changing colors within the park. Climb the bluff for a birds-eye view of the beautiful colors of the area. Goldenrod and blazing star are in bloom, along with a few varieties of daisies. Pick up a bird list at the park office and check out the birds at Mill Bluff.

Camping

All campsites and facilities are open and in good condition. As a reminder there are no showers at  the park. Showers are available for a fee at area vendors.

Reserved camping for 2009 ends September 27. Reservations for 2010 may be made up to 11 months in advance by calling toll-free (888) 947-2757, TTY (800) 274-7275 or by using the Web.

Any firewood brought in from more than 50 miles away or from a quarantined area [PDF, 102KB] or from out of state will be confiscated due to the potential of carrying harmful emerald ash borers [exit DNR]. Firewood is available for sale at the park for $4 a bundle. More...

Swimming

The swimming pond and beach are in good condition. The water is tested and always has very good readings.

There is no fishing or boating at Mill Bluff.

Planning a family gathering or a special occasion? The park has many dates still available for the reservable A-frame shelter.

Roads in and around the park are open and in good condition.
