Wildcat Mountain State Park Conditions

Conditions as of Thursday, July 3, 2008:

Wildcat Mountain is now open with some closures.

Trails – Horse trails are now open. Part of the Yellow loop on the horse trail remains closed. The conditions of the horse trails are variable. Work will be in progress on the horse trails.

Hiking trails are open except the Hemlock hiking trail remains closed.

Stay on marked on trails. Some trails remain in rough condition.

Campgrounds – Horse, family, and group camps are now open.

Picnic areas – all picnic areas are open except for the Ice Cave picnic area. Ice Cave picnic area remains closed.

Wildcat Mountain received heavy rains and flooding Saturday, June 7, and Sunday June 8. The neighboring community of Ontario was inundated with 9 inches of rain. The horse camp and trails received damage, including flooding, downed trees, and mud slides. The canoe landing and lower picnic area were flooded.
