Picnicking at Brunet Island State ParkLooking for a place to have a picnic or family reunion? Brunet Island has just what you are looking for. With nearly 20 acres of picnic area available to visitors, there is plenty of room to enjoy an outdoor meal. There are more than twenty grills and 100 picnic tables. The parking areas can accommodate 175 vehicles, so there is always room for you.
The picnic area is on the south and west sides of Brunet Island and offers a scenic view of the Chippewa River and surrounding countryside. A playground and ball diamond are at the southeast end of the picnic area.
The pavilion and picnic area overlook a 200foot beach and a large, gently sloping sunning lawn. Benches are available for observation of swimmers and there is plenty of blanket space for sunbathing. Remember to use care and confine fires to designated rings, grills and fireplaces, and extinguish them before leaving. Wisconsin State Parks have a “carry incarry out policy,” so please take your trash with you. Litterbags can be found in dispensers at the pavilion and flush toilets/changing stalls in the picnic area. State regulations prohibit pets in picnic areas and on beaches.
