Views of the Chippewa River State TrailThe Chippewa River State Trail provides a variety of scenery for your enjoyment.
Once you're out of the City of Eau Claire on the Chippewa River Trail, you'll travel alongside native prairie that dates back to when the railroads first came through.
The flora and fauna are as rich in diversity as the habitat. Commonly seen are deer, fox, turkeys, herons, ruffed grouse, quail and eagles. Spring and fall add flocks of migratory waterfowl as well as osprey and cranes as they pass through.
The trail goes over a curved bridge surrounded by green forest.
A bench at mile marker 17 invites you to rest and enjoy the scenery, birds, and animals. Tarrant park in Durand features parking adjacent to the trail, picnic areas, playgrounds, athletic fields, swimming pool, water, toilets, and the only campground on the Chippewa River State Trail.
Tarrant Park also has a bench along the trail. More About the Chippewa River State Trail
