Camping Near the Glacial Drumlin State TrailCamping opportunities near the Glacial Drumlin State Trail are available throughout the year at campgrounds in the Southern Unit of the Kettle Moraine State Forest, Lake Kegonsa State Park, Capital Springs State Recreation Area and at at the Sandhill Station State Campground. The Sandhill Station State Campground, one mile south of Lake Mills on Mud Lake Road, has 15 walk-in, tent-only campsites nestled in a secluded oak savanna. There is a self-registration station near the entrance by the parking lot. Campers must self-register before setting up camp. Sandhill Station Campground Map [PDF 149KB] Campers may make site-specific reservations 11 months in advance. Non-reservable campsites are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Reservations can be made online or by calling the toll-free number (888) WI-PARKS ((888) 947-2757, TTY (800) 274-7275). Well water and pit toilets are available in the campground and showers are available at the Glacial Drumlin State Trail Headquarters in Lake Mills. No firewood is sold at this campground and there are firewood rules for all Wisconsin state parks, forests and trails to help prevent the spread of pests and diseases.
