Governor Thompson State Park
Things to Do

While Governor Thompson State Park is still in its development stages, there are many things to do, including boating, hiking, berry picking, fishing, swimming, picnicking, relaxing, and deer gun hunting.

Boating and Fishing

There's a newly rebuilt boat launch on the Caldron Falls Reservoir, Boat Landing #13. The rebuilding included a major upgrade to the boat launch, by adding another concrete ramp and boarding dock. Bathroom facilities are also now on site.

Fishing is available to those who enjoy a quiet experience. Only non-motorized boats are allowed on Woods Lake. The most popular fish seem to be blue gills, crappies, northern, and even some bass.

The Woods Lake day-use area is open and has picnic tables and benches to enjoy a peaceful lunch or to simply enjoy the seasonal changes around the lake.
