Peninsula to Celebrate Centennial in 2009
The excitement is building. If you would like to receive emailings about centennial
plans and activities, or if you would like to volunteer for upcoming centennial

Work on this project began in 2002 with a grant from the Herlache Foundation.
Staff and volunteers are editing text. Publication is planned for summer 2008.
If you would like to make a contribution to help defray printing costs, please
contact Naturalist Kathleen Harris.
Each donor who contributes $60 or more will receive a complimentary copy of
The Girls of Summer.

Peninsula Wildflower Checklist
The Peninsula Wildflower Checklist lists blossoming dates for park flowers.
Buy it for $2 at Peninsula's White Cedar Nature Center or park headquarters,
or send check for $2.50 to Peninsula State Park, 9462 Shore Rd., Fish Creek
WI 54212-0218. Proceeds fund nature education.
Like to Hike?
Participate in Peninsula's Like to Hike program. Hike, bike, or ski
at least five trails and be eligible to purchase a custom pin at cost
($3). The 2008 pin features a white pelican..
Ask
for a hiking log at Peninsula State Park Headquarters or the Nature Center.
Select five of nine trail options listed. Record your adventures in the
log. Some trails are accessible. Requirements can also be modified to
meet a visitor's needs.
Have the log stamped at headquarters or the Nature Center. Quantities
of the pin will be limited. You can start hiking any time.
Pins are also available to individuals and groups that volunteer (i.e.,
scouts/garlic mustard pull).

Last Chance! Fewer than 100 Peninsula
Camp Cookbooks remain. The cookbook retails for $10.55 (tax included).
Add $2.50 for shipping and handling. All proceeds benefit Peninsula nature
education.
In addition to 350 delicious recipes, the cookbook includes sections on camping
tips and Peninsula history. Peninsula's cookbook also includes important information
about such topics as invasive species, firewood insect pests and protection
