Park Staff at Roche-A-Cri State Park

Permanent Park Staff

Joe Stecker-Kochanski is Roche-A-Cri State Park manager. He received a bachelor of science degree in forestry with a minor in soils, from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. He also received an associate degree in police science from Midstate Technical School. Joe worked as an arborist for the City of Stevens Point for six years after college. In 1983 he became a seasonal ranger at Harrington Beach State Park. Since 1987 Joe has served as a permanent ranger at Wyalusing and the Northern Unit of the Kettle Moraine. In 1992 he was promoted to assistant manager of Richard Bong State Recreation Area. Joe became manager of Buckhorn and Roche-A-Cri State parks in 1994. Joe's wife Elaine, works as a registered nurse for a home hospice agency. Joe has two sons, Kevin and Joe.

Heather Wolf is the ranger/assistant park manager at Buckhorn and Roche-A-Cri. She received a bachelor of science degree from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point in forest recreation with a minor in soils. During college, Heather held summer jobs with the U. S. Forest Service (USFS) on the Superior and Huron-Manistee National Forests. She also worked at the USFS Midewin National Tallgrass Prairie in Wilmington, Illinois, as a Youth Conservation Corps leader in various prairie restoration activities. Heather alsoworked as a consultant for a utility in northwest Illinois as a forester and landscape coordinator. Heather and husband Rich hope you enjoy your visit to Roche-A-Cri.

Anthony Knipfer is the ranger-operations at Roche-A-Cri and Buckhorn State Parks. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point with a major in natural resource management and minors in environmental law enforcement and natural science. He also received an associate degree in police science from Madison Area Technical College. He started working as a seasonal ranger at Peninsula State Park in 2002. Since that time, he has worked as a wildlife technician, plant health care technician, and tree preservation officer.
