Friends of Whitefish Dunes State Park

The Friends of Whitefish Dunes State Park support the park as volunteers and fund-raisers.

Throughout the year, the friends have a variety of activities and events for members and nonmembers alike. They sponsor events such as:

• Candlelight ski and beach hike
• Sand sculpture contest
• Guest speakers on a wide range of topics at the annual meeting the Saturday before MemorialDay.
• Summer picnic for members and their families, with food, fun, and free gifts.
• In the fall, the wood splitting crew cuts, splits, and stacks wood from the park’s downed trees to sell for firewood.

Volunteering is another way friends members stay active at the park. Work groups; special events, cookie drives, and manymore opportunities give all members a chance to help out.
