Chronic Wasting Disease MapsOn this page you’ll find maps showing the currently known distribution of chronic wasting disease (CWD) in Wisconsin’s wild deer herd. These maps are based on disease surveillance conducted since 2001. You’ll also find maps showing prevalence of CWD in the zones, helicopter survey data and the boundaries of Wisconsin’s herd reduction zone (HRZ) and disease eradication zones (DEZ). 2008 Helicopter Survey MapsThese maps display the number of deer seen during helicopter surveys conducted this winter. Sections represented by a number were flown once and the number displayed is how many deer were counted during this flight. For sections not represented by a number, no helicopter survey was conducted.
