Targeted Watershed and Water Planning, formerly called "basin planning", is the process through which watershed and water information is updated with general and/or specific water assessments and resource management recommendations. For the 2010 Assessment Report, Wisconsin has identified the watersheds below for updates. Assessment work will occur during spring/summer/fall 2009 for the 2010 Water Quality Assessment Report to Congress.

Planning for "targeted waters" will also occur during this planning cycle. These are waters which have been selected by regional water quality biologists and supervisors due to known condition declines or improvements and which may be recommended for changes to the list of impaired waters.
