Watershed ManagementCherokee Wetland, 2006, Madison, Wisconsin. A watershed is simply the land that drains from surrounding ridge tops to a common point such as a lake or stream to their confluence with a neighboring watershed. All lands and waterways can be found in one watershed or another. The watershed program uses a "watershed approach", or a systems approach, whenever possible to address problems or to restore or protect resources. Recently, the watershed program updated its strategic goals relating to work to be conducted in the next two years. Below are the Watershed Program´s Strategic Goals.
