The Lower Fox River TMDL Outreach Committee

The role of the Outreach Committee is to educate the public and help address stakeholder concerns during both development and implementation of the TMDL. Objectives for this committee include but are not limited to: developing key messages, developing and implementing a communication and outreach strategy for TMDL development and implementation, and meeting with key stakeholder groups. The committee will work closely with key stakeholders (agriculture, stormwater, industrial and municipal dischargers, etc.) to gather concerns and questions during the TMDL development and implementation process. Members of the Outreach Committee will be asked to share any information gathered through outreach tools (media, stakeholder meetings, social indicators) with the TMDL Technical Team when considering the feasibility of the allocation and restoration scenarios.

Established in the fall of 2006, the Outreach Committee meets approximately every one-two months. Outreach materials developed so far include: updates to websites, fact sheets, social indicators surveys and reports, stakeholder input reports, newsletters and newspaper articles. All outreach materials can be found at the Lower Fox River UW-Basin Education website.
