AnnouncementsNonpoint Rule RevisionA cooperative effort ... since 1997, DNR Runoff Management Staff have been working to redesign and strengthen the DNR's rules concerning runoff pollution. Through cooperation with other state agencies, environmental organizations, agricultural organizations, transportation organizations, municipal representatives, private citizens and many others, this effort was finalized in October 2002. Currently the Runoff Managment Section is working to revise NR 243 (Agricultural Runoff). See the Runoff Management Rules for the most recent information. EPA Phase II RegulationsThe EPA Storm Water Phase II regulations are the next step in the effort to preserve, protect, and improve the Nation's water resources. Among other changes, Phase II regulations will expand the current DNR Storm Water Program by requiring more municipalities and small construction sites to control polluted runoff.
