Outstanding and Exceptional Resource Waters

In NR 102, Wis. Adm. Code, outstanding and exceptional resource waters are defined in an effort to protect these high-quality waterbodies. The lists of these waterbodies are presented in the links below.

Impaired Waters

The EPA 303(d) list of impaired waters consists of waterbodies that are affected by a variety of pollutants such as sediments, nutrients, mercury or other factors like habitat degradation. To see the list, click here: Impaired Waters 303(d) list

Source Water Protection Areas

A source water protection area is the land area that contributes water to a drinking water system. Assessments in these areas are conducted to determine potential sources of contamination  for all public drinking water systems.
