Outstanding and Exceptional Resource WatersIn NR 102, Wis. Adm. Code, outstanding and exceptional resource waters are defined in an effort to protect these high-quality waterbodies. Impaired WatersThe EPA 303(d) list of impaired waters consists of waterbodies that are affected by a variety of pollutants such as sediments, nutrients, mercury or other factors like habitat degradation. Assessments in these areas are conducted to determine potential sources of contamination for all public drinking water systems.
