Swimming

There is a swimming beach on Little Falls Lake. The Willow River is accessible in many places, however, there are no other designated swim areas in the park.

Do not swim alone, at night or in unfamiliar places. Also, do not dive from bridges, piers, high banks or into water of unknown depth. Small children should be watched closely when near water. Wear a life jacket when using an inner tube, air mattress or other floating device. Use caution when wading in unknown waters as water depth may change abruptly. Only swim at designated beaches. Lifeguards are not provided.

Boating, canoeing and kayaking

Boating, canoeing and kayaking are popular activities on Little Falls Lake. A boat launch is on the lake. Rentals are available in season.

Kayaking opportunities are available in the river, however, kayakers should be aware of changing river conditions and underwater debris. Other area lakes and the St. Croix River offer motorized boating opportunities.

All boats must be equipped with a Coast Guard approved Personal Floatation Device (PFD) for each person aboard. All PFDs must be readily accessible and the proper size for the intended wearer. Do not overload your craft. If your boat or canoe capsizes in fast water, stay upstream of the craft so you do not get caught between the craft and a log or rock. Keep away from the area immediately above and below the dams. Boaters should stay well away from swimmers.
